COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPARENCY
The district and schools have a responsibility to keep families informed and engaged—communication that’s transparent and goes both ways, not just from the top down. IPS must prioritize building trust with families to keep current students enrolled and attract new students into its schools. 

QUALITY SCHOOL OPTIONS
We live in a choice-rich K-12 environment, and parents must have access to quality school options for their children. We have a responsibility to make sure quality schools are located all over the city, not just in a few pockets, and we must give families easy-to-use tools to explore their options. 

STRATEGIC PLANNING
If families are going to trust us with their children, we cannot make decisions that affect them at the very last minute. We have to walk with them and keep them informed about what’s going on. That means we need to invest more effort and time in strategic planning that looks months and years down the road instead of just tackling the problems immediately ahead of us.
